What’s in a name, anyway? Hopefully not a lot of weird characters and digits if you have a Blockchain.com wallet.

According to a statement made today by Web3 domain name supplier Unstoppable Domains, the wallet-cum-exchange will allow all 82 million of its wallet users to tie their alphanumeric addresses to human-friendly NFT domain names.

People may buy Unstoppable Domains domain names with one of ten extensions-.bitcoin,.coin,.crypto,.dao,.nft,.wallet,.x,.zil,.888, or the soon-to-be-released.blockchain-and use them with their Blockchain.com wallets.

This allows folks to see who they’re dealing with more easily. You can transfer ETH to Joe.crypto instead of the address starting with 0x631d. Unstoppable Domains is comparable to Ethereum Name Service in this way, which allows users to tie their.eth domain names to their wallets.

In a news release, Blockchain.com senior product manager Amadeo Pellicce remarked, “Replacing difficult addresses with human accessible domains allows users to send and receive crypto as simple as writing an email.”

NFTs (short for non-fungible tokens) are blockchain-based digital records of ownership. Though typically associated with digital art and collectibles, the domain name in this case is an NFT, which means you own it and may transfer it.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not mistaken. Blockchain.com added capability for delivering coins and tokens to.crypto sites last year. Users may now transfer cryptocurrency to any Unstoppable Domains address.

Blockchain.com is gradually improving its NFT capabilities. Late last year, the crypto exchange also introduced the Blockchain.com NFT marketplace. “Browse, buy, sell, and securely store NFTs without ever leaving your Blockchain.com Wallet,” according to the marketplace, which is still in development.

Blockchain.com began as a Bitcoin block explorer in 2011 before introducing a wallet service to allow users to store their BTC. Unstoppable Domains’ blockchain network leverages Ethereum to mint NFTs, and it presently has 82 million wallets storing a variety of crypto assets.

This is the latest in a long line of integrations for Unstoppable Domains. Its.crypto domain names were first compatible with MyEtherWallet in January 2020, and subsequently with Coinbase Wallet in August of the same year. However, it expects that this broad integration-beyond just.crypto-could help push the number of registered domains over $2.1 million.

“With millions of people using Blockchain.com Wallet in more than 200 countries every day, it’s partners like these that help make NFT domains and simple crypto payments more accessible to the next flood of customers,” said Senior Vice President Sandy Carter.
